UK Government

1. Most heads of government departments have the title “Secretary of State”. The minister in charge of Britain’s relations who are called “Foreign Secretary” in the outside world. The one in charge of law and order inside the country is the “Home Secretary”. Another important person is the “Chancellor of the Exchequer”, who is the head of the Treasury.
2. The Cabinet is one of the most important parts of Government. They meet once a week and take decisions about new policies, the implementation of existing policies and the running of the various government departments.

3. Cabinet reshuffle is the strength of the PM’s power of patronage is apparent from the modern phenomenon, a few cabinet members are dropped and a few new members are brought in.

4. The PM have more power that the Queen.The PM lives in the 10 Downing St, London, and the Queen live Buckingham in London.

5. Britain, which is unlike much of Western Europe, normally has” single-party government’. It means that all members of the government belong to the same political party. But traditionally, British politicians have regarded coalition government. It is a bad idea. The single party government can help to establish the tradition known as collective responsibility.
